Translational Research

Hearth Advisors has extensive and deep experience working with principal investigators, taking fundamental (or basic) research and translating research into outcomes that benefit people and communities directly.

We have worked with globally leading researchers in disciplines such as education, biology, genomics, medical science, particle physics, data science, economics, environment, human behaviour, artificial intelligence, and sustainability. We help academics make an impact with their research and provide links to students, policymakers, industry, other scholars, and investors.

Much of the translational research we conduct and the impact we create have intellectual property implications. We are deeply conscious of the need to maintain IP authenticity, secure the rights of academics, and protect copyrights.

Most of the translational research and impact work we do is bespoke so that the outcomes are achieved in a manner that is unique to the situation. Some examples of the work we have done include:

  • Water and ecology research: Translating leading conservation research, including studies of the political economy of water, into curriculum materials for enhancing school classroom practice and outcomes.
  • Applied economics: Using evidence-backed techniques to bring market economics to those outside the formal education system and create relevant ‘grounded skills’ for theoretical students.
  • Medical devices and practices: Assisting leading researchers to align with industry and doctors to create various outcomes, including new clinical practice, new devices, broadened medical education and retraining schemes.
  • Education: Various projects to translate research and concepts to classroom practice.
  • New courses and institutes: Aligning the job market’s needs with the latest research to create new higher education qualifications that are market-aligned, rooted in sound pedagogy, and emerging from academic research centres.
  • Outreach and advocacy: Organising a series of experiential learning programmes for school and university students, which enable them to study alongside researchers. Further, we regularly create public events on issues that matter to people and bring the best academic thought to focus on the issues from differing perspectives.

Hearth Advisors has found that the best academics and researchers are keen to see the impact of their work. We create industry-academia links, cluster partnerships, university-school linkages, and similar programmes and projects through our translational research.
