Hearth Academy

Learning That Changes How You Think

Hearth Academy is an educational platform offering immersive, expert-led programmes for students and adults. Our goal is to take learning beyond what traditional classrooms and professional development courses can offer, facilitating a shift in how we perceive, question, and engage with the world.

We live in a time when information is abundant and the pressure to perform is high, yet what is often overlooked is the kind of learning that changes how you think, not just what you know. Hearth Academy exists to close this gap. Our programmes are built around four core capacities: Curiosity, Creativity, Communication, and Collaboration. At Hearth Advisors, we recognise that these are no longer merely soft skills but qualities that enable people to navigate a complex, AI-shaped world with agency and purpose.

While academic rigour and intellectual exploration remain our primary focus, we place great emphasis on creating deeply authentic experiences. A student attending our programme at CERN is not merely learning particle physics; they are walking the same corridors and eating in the same cafeterias as Nobel Prize-winning scientists. A school leader on the Designing for the Classroom of the Future programme not only interacts with experts in the field but also absorbs the rich history and ethos of one of the world’s greatest learning environments. The atmosphere is part of what makes learning stick.

Who Can Take Part in the Programmes

Hearth Academy programmes are designed for students and adults who are curious, motivated, and ready to be challenged. For students from Grade 9 onwards, our programmes offer opportunities to engage with ideas, experts, and environments that extend beyond the standard curriculum. For educators and school leaders, they provide a way to stay ahead in a fast-changing profession and to engage in conversations that shape the future(s) of education.

How Learning Happens

Hearth Academy programmes are structured into clear stages to enhance depth, retention, and long-term impact.

Pre-learning — Participants are expected to come prepared. Before any programme begins, we share a pre-learning module covering the foundational concepts and context needed to engage meaningfully on arrival. This is not optional background reading. It is the baseline from which the real learning begins.

On-site immersion — the heart of every programme. Learning is hands-on, inquiry-led, and centred on direct engagement with experts, environments, and ideas that participants would not encounter in a standard academic or professional setting. Lectures and seminars exist, but they serve experience, not the other way round.

Post-immersion — Students complete a research capstone, applying what they have learned to an independent project under faculty supervision. Adult participants leave with connections to a peer network and continued access to Hearth Academy’s learning community. The programme ends; the learning does not.

Current Programmes

All Hearth Academy programmes are certified and built on a three-stage learning model. Participants come prepared, engage deeply on-site, and leave with either a research project to complete or a peer network to sustain their learning. The format may vary, but the commitment to meaningful learning at every stage remains.

For Students (Grades 9 to 12):

Masterclass at CERN: A week in Switzerland at the world’s largest particle physics laboratory, where students attend masterclasses led by CERN scientists, take part in hands-on experiments, and explore all that Geneva has to offer. This certified programme moves from pre-learning to on-site immersion, culminating in a research project upon return.

For Adults:

Classroom 2030 at DEFI Cambridge: A five-day, certified, residential programme at the University of Cambridge for school leadership, exploring how emerging technologies are reshaping education. Participants explore topics including future thinking, human-centred design, and the ethics of AI in teaching and assessment, guided by leading academics and culminating in a collaborative curriculum design project.
