Mark Runacres is a Partner of Canta Consultants LLP.
Mark spent twenty-five years in the British diplomatic service, with over a decade working on South and South-East Asian Affairs, as well as serving in Paris and at the British Mission to the UN in New York. He was also a Press Spokesman at the Foreign Ministry in London and Director for Trade for South Asia and Africa at the Department of Trade and Industry. His last job was as Deputy Head of Mission in New Delhi (India) managing Britain’s biggest diplomatic operation.
Mark is actively engaged in companies ranging from communications (Advisory Board of the PR firm Avian Media) and public affairs (Public Affairs Asia based in Bangkok) to finance, sustainability, and new technologies. Mark is on the Boards of Elara Capital (Asia) and SQN Services Pte Ltd in Singapore and has served on the Boards of Mindtree, G4S (India), Religare Capital Markets and A4e India. Mark was for many years the India Advisor to the Confederation of British Industry, the UK’s leading trade federation, and chaired the British Business Group in Delhi. He is a Director at the Business and Community Foundation, a CSR-focused NGO.
