Duration: Full-time, short-term contract assignment

Location: Online, remote work from home, Delhi NCR (India)

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Junior Legal Researcher will conduct a combination of desk and field research on relevant rules of law, Acts and other provisions relating to education, not-for-profit institutions, and taxation regulations in India. Drawing on the research, he/she will support the India teams of Canta Consultants LLP in preparing communications materials, editing reports, and other writing and desk reviews as needed. The Junior Legal Researcher will report directly to a designated Project Manager and coordinate with the organisation’s operational teams in India and elsewhere.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Juris Doctor or LL.M. in Law, an undergraduate law degree, or current student with a degree expected before August 2021.
  • Legal research and writing skills;
  • Knowledge of the rule of law and access to justice issues;
  • Prior field experience in South Asia.
  • Excellent English oral and written skills.
